She is also a trainer of therapy dogs. Sue is a nationally Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT). This requires Sue to obtain 36 continuing education units every 3 years in order to maintain her certification. This designation is the only one offered by an independent certifying organization. She is also a Canine Good Citizen and S.T.A.R. Puppy evaluator. And she is a professional level member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. Sue has studied basic obedience, aggression, behavioral problem solving, positive methods of training, dog obedience showing, agility, herding, flyball, and frisbee. She has studied under internationally renowned trainers including Dr.Ian Dunbar, Dr. Nicholas Dodman, Dr. Patricia McConnell, Dr. Temple Grandin, and others, attending numerous workshops, lectures, and seminars. Competing Copper, her Australian Shepherd, in the obedience show ring, Sue earned one leg of her AKC Companion Dog (CD) title as well as her Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title and her Therapy Dog certification. Her first dog, Callie, also attained a CGC and her Therapy Dog certification. Callie appeared in a print ad and nationally-airing TV commercial by William Wegman, internationally renowned photographer. Sue has authored an article for The Pet Gazette and appeared as a guest on Cablevision’s Pet Talk. Sue has done volunteer work with dogs, hosting events for the Girl Scouts, volunteering at PAWS, DAWS, and Adopt-A-Dog events. Sue and Copper participated in the Read to Rover program at local libraries. She has also taught several programs for kids. Sue was a trainer for, and the director of, Dog Gone Smart in Norwalk for ten years. Prior to becoming a full-time dog trainer, Sue taught public high school for twenty years. She brings a wealth of teaching experience to make her a skilled people instructor, as well as an experienced dog trainer. She also has run an internship program and trained a number of people to become teachers and dog trainers. She is currently a mentor to aspiring trainers through various course programs. Sue lives at home with her pal Farfel, a small dachshund. Both Sue and Gina are members of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and continue to further their education in many fields of canine training and behavior. ![]() Catherine graduated from New Canaan High School and earned a BS in Psychology from Drew University. She graduated with distinction from the prestigious Canine Trainers’ Academy (CATCH) and is a Certified Dog Trainer. She is a skilled dog trainer, relating well to both dogs and their owners. She uses positive reinforcement methods to build a solid foundation and make learning fun for both the dogs and their owners. She is experienced with all breeds and sizes of dogs. Catherine is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. She is working toward earning her Certification of Professional Dog Trainers. (CPDT). Because Catherine is so busy taking care of other people’s dogs, she doesn’t have one of her own right now. Kaiser, a dog trainer for eighteen years, has taught obedience classes at all levels, specialty classes in Freestyle, tricks, games and advertising as well as private lessons with clients and their dogs. ![]() Since she began training guinea pigs at the age of seven, Naomi Marsh has maintained a lifelong passion for animal training, particularly for the wonderful dogs she counts as family members. She teaches canine obedience classes as well as freestyle, games and tricks and is an avid student of positive and motivational education techniques, basic obedience, service dog training, agility and canine musical freestyle. Naomi has taught numerous classes at Pupperazi Pet Spa and Dog Training Club of Tampa. Naomi is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, having completed all requirements of the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA) and is a Canine Good Citizen and S.T.A.R. Puppy evaluator. Naomi is a field representative trainer for Paws With a Cause, a nonprofit service organization that custom trains assistance dogs. Naomi has been privileged to learn under internationally acclaimed trainers. She has attended seminars, workshops and private classes. Bashi, Naomi’s late Pembroke Welsh Corgi, competed in various AKC and WCFO trials, earning titles in agility and freestyle, as well as Canine Good Citizen and Advanced Canine Good Citizen titles. Bashi attained the Champion Trick Title, the highest award from Do More with Your Dog. Bashi was also a member of Paws for Friendship, a therapy group, and performed with American I Dogs-National Performance Team. Bashi loved dancing with The Doggone Dancers, a group Naomi founded to perform Freestyle shows at assisted living facilities and nursing homes to provide entertainment and companionship to seniors. Naomi enjoys the companionship of her 2 retrievers, Murphy, an English Cream Golden and Wren, a black Labrador. Naomi has trained both Murphy and Wren to become certified Demonstration Dogs with Paws with a Cause. Murphy obtained his AKC Canine Good Citizen and Advanced Good Citizen titles. Both dogs assist with private and group classes. Murphy and Wren each know freestyle moves and may perform in the near future. Naomi has been involved in many local dog clubs, including Dog Training Club of Tampa, Upper Suncoast Dog Training Club and Sarasota Obedience Training Club.Aside from her avocation of advancing canine causes, Naomi practices podiatry in Clearwater, FL. Her spouse, Lee Smith, is also a podiatrist. Both Naomi and Lee enjoy spending time with their dogs. |
